ROBERT LEGGAT

Robert Leggat is a sculptor, with his own foundry “Bronze Fields Foundry” on a farm in Plettenberg Bay. Robert casts for a select few sculptors as well as hosts private exhibitions and bronze pourings. Robert Leggat’s attention to detail is exceptional and the ability to capture the essence of his subject involves long hours observing, drawing and sketching from life plus the use of taxidermic examples borrowed from collections and museums.

A life-size Leggat bronze sculpture of a Dolphin and Calf was erected in Plettenberg Bay in 2000. This iconic sculpture which encapsulates the beauty of these wonderful creatures is positioned in the hub of the town. Another iconic sculpture by Robert is the Archangel Michael, which is an impressive 4m high sculpture which will be positioned in the fountain on the front lawns of Michael House in KZN.

All bronzes are cast by Robert – from conception to completion.
