ROBYN GARSTMAN

I was born and raised in the Garden Route, studied in Stellenbosch and now reside in Knysna where I have started a photography business.

I started photography as a hobby when I was young and have since turned it into my career. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication, majoring in photography, where I developed a passion for creating compelling visual narratives and exploring fine art photography.

My fine art photos mostly consist of conceptual portrait series and wildlife prints. I often incorporate the use of black and white to really get to the essence of a subject. I also love to shoot with film, 35mm, and medium format. I love to document people, places and wildlife while traveling and experiencing new environments and cultures. For work, my main focus is real estate photography and wildlife conservation documentary photo and film. My favourite hobby is scuba diving and one day I would like to do marine life photography.

I have been part of one exhibition, the Stellenbosch Outdoor Photography Exhibition and hope to have more opportunities going forward. I still have a lot to learn and hope to eventually be able to travel the world as part of my photography career.
