RETHA ALBERTS

After her husband’s passing, Retha Alberts was offered a career opportunity in Oman, in the Middle East.

When she relocated there, she was still grieving his sudden loss, and art became a form of therapy. During the summer months in Oman, temperatures often reached 45°C. The intense heat kept her indoors, and what began as boredom soon turned into painting. Her first art lessons came from YouTube.

Since 2018, she has had the privilege of successfully participating in professional art exhibitions in Muscat, Cape Town, Worcester, Riebeeck Kasteel, and Plettenberg Bay.

She often reflects on the artistic talent of her late mother, and she still has fond memories of her grandfather, a self-taught artist. Perhaps it really is in the genes…!

Commission requests are welcome.
